BOONI: The district administration of Upper Chitral on Wednesday said it has intensified efforts to eliminate encroachments.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Haseebur Rehman Khan Khalil, Tehsildar Mastuj Shafiur Rehman along with the district sports officer and revenue officials visited the government playground in Charun Oveer.
Reports had indicated that certain individuals were secretly trying to occupy the government land by building unauthorized structures and planting trees there.
Based on official land records, the tehsildar demarcated the boundaries of the playground and removed all illegal encroachments on the spot. The land was then officially handed over to the Sports Department.
The tehsildar instructed the sports officer to ensure proper maintenance of the playground so that no one could dare attempt such illegal activity again in the future, said a statement issued by the office of the deputy commissioner.
