UDA sweeps journalists’ election in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Unity Democratic Alliance (UDA) has made history by sweeping all positions and executive council seats in the Khyber Union of Journalists elections.
Kashifuddin Syed has been elected as president while Arshad Ali will serve as the general secretary
KashifudDin Syed (UDA) 295 votes, Alamgir Khan (Progressive Journalists Group) 156 votes
Senior Vice President: Imran Ayaz (UDA) – 327 votes
– Vice President: Shehzad Ahmed (UDA) – 293 votes
– General Secretary: Arshad Ali (UDA) – 320 votes, Muhammad Naeem – 121 votes
– Joint Secretary: Shahid Khan (UDA) – unopposed
– Finance Secretary: Amir Muavia (UDA) – 320 votes, Jameel Mehmood – 120 votes
Executive Council Members:
Ahtsham Khan – 374 votes
Shah Faisal – 324 votes
Iftikhar Hussain – 323 votes
Saiful Islam Saifi – 309 votes
Niaz Ali – 293 votes
Aasim Sheraz – 273 votes
Jahanzeb Sarhadi – 262 votes
Asad Khan – 232 votes
Ghulam Ghous – 221 votes
Arshad Dar – 215 votes.
The elections were held at the Peshawar Press Club on Friday with a total of 464 votes polled. The UDA’s victory marks a significant milestone in the organization’s history.
