Rally pays tribute to martyrs of Chitral police
CHITRAL: In order to pay tribute to the martyrs of Chitral police, a rally was taken out here on Thursday which was led by the deputy commissioner and the district police officer of Lower Chitral.
Police officers, Jawans and people from different walks of life participated in the rally that started form the Police Lines and after passing through the bazaar gathered at the police martyrs camp at Ataligh bridge.
Addressing the participants, DPO Iftikhar Shah said the objective of observing the Martyrs Day on August 4th is to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and ensure their families that we always stand by them.
He said law and order situation had significantly improved in the province thanks to the sacrifices of the police. The police would continue playing its role in the fight against terrorism and promotion of peace.
The DPO also said the police department would make all-out efforts for the welfare of the families of the martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mohsin Iqbal said police officials while sacrificing their lives for peace had attained the highest status of martyrs, and the district administration valued their services and paid tribute to them.
