Meeting discusses urgent rehabilitation work

PESHAWAR: A meeting convened at the deputy commissioner’s office in Booni Upper Chitral focused on urgent measures for the rehabilitation of individuals and infrastructure affected by recent storms, rains and snowfall.
Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Suriya Bibi alongside Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Irfanuddin and heads of various line departments, participated in the deliberations.
During the meeting, a comprehensive assessment of the damages incurred due to the recent adverse weather conditions was conducted. The deputy speaker issued directives for the immediate evaluation of damaged residences, swift clearance of blocked roads and damaged infrastructure, restoration of mobile services, and provision of emergency assistance to affected individuals.
Subsequently, the deputy speaker, accompanied by the deputy commissioner, visited the Police Lines to attend funeral prayers of Shaheed Hussain Ahmed, a constable of Upper Chitral police. Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, the deputy speaker emphasized the need for a transparent investigation into the constable’s tragic demise.
The meeting and subsequent visit underscored the government’s proactive stance in addressing the challenges posed by natural disasters and ensuring prompt relief and support to affected communities. The commitment to transparency and accountability in investigating the constable’s death reflects the authorities’ dedication to upholding justice and integrity in all endeavors.
