Alert issued about rain, flash flooding from 15th

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has alerted the departments concerned about flash flooding and hailstorm in the wake of a new spell of rain from Saturday. 

In a communication, the PDMA referred to a forecast by the regional meteorologist department according to which another westerly wave was likely to enter the western part of the country on April 15 (Saturday).

As a result, rain and isolated hailstorm and flash flooding were expected in Chitral Lower and Upper, Swat, Shangla and Dir etc. 

Rain with dust storm and isolated hailstorm and flash flooding are expected in Chitral and other areas from April 15 to April 20, it added. 

The PDMA asked the district administrations and other departments and agencies to take precautionary measures to avoid/minimize losses to life and damages to property during the forecast period.
