Inspiring story of a Chitrali student
Our story is a freedom song of struggle. It is about finding our purpose, contributing to society, and standing up for the largest social movement in the world, says a press release.
Our story started in September when Aamer Zeb Sultan, a student belonging to a remote village in Chitral, was selected as the Campus Director at the Hult Prize University of Peshawar. He was enthusiastic about changing the world through social enterprise and soon gathered a team of like-minded individuals. The team needed assistance creating a real impact after they faced administrative problems at the start.
It was when Dr. Mehnaz Gul, the coordinator of the BBA Department at the Institute of Management Studies, assisted the Hult Prize University of Peshawar in creating a meaningful impact in society. The Hult Prize University of Peshawar could only see its future with the guidance and assistance of Dr. Mehnaz Gul. We are proud and glad to have professors like her who encourage students to contribute to society and the nation.
Thanks to Dr. Mehnaz, the social entrepreneurial journey started at the University of Peshawar, and the Hult Prize team began enlightening the students about the concept of social enterprise, financial literacy, digital literacy, and practical skills development that are the pathway to sustainable future of the people in our country. Over time, the Hult team expanded in the whole city and gradually crossed 150 team members who actively pursued the mission of the Hult Prize University of Peshawar.
After tireless days and nights, Hult Prize University of Peshawar conducted its first Mega-Event entitled “Fashion, Arts, Science and Technology Exhibitions & Spotlight Talks.” The theme of the event was changing the world through social enterprise. It attracted thousands of students, offered a furnishing market square, linked entrepreneurs from all the corners of the KP, and provided networking opportunities to budding startups. The Spotlight Talks symposium was joined by renowned entrepreneurs, influencers, professional business advisors, and women entrepreneurs who motivated the audience.
The first event opened the doors of opportunities for the Hult Prize University of Peshawar and people started noticing its efforts to create an impact on society. Then, the Hult Prize University of Peshawar started partnering with NGOs, governmental organizations, and other firms to empower the students of Peshawar. Through a partnership with DEMO – Ideas for Impact, Hult Prize University of Peshawar trained 238 students in the field of digital marketing.
The efforts of the Hult Prize University of Peshawar finally paved off when Hult Prize Foundation, a Boston-based Organization, recognized the Hult Prize University of Peshawar as one of the best On-Campus Programs. It is both moments of pride and excitement to be featured as one of the best On-Campus Programs of the Hult Prize Foundation.
The Hult Prize University of Peshawar has set all eyes on the most effective networking and business pitch competition in February, called Socioeconomic Enterprise Development (SEED). SEED will contribute to both the economy and capacity building in enterprises.
Wonderful achievement of the student’s community.
