Chitral-Mastuj road again blocked at Reshun

RESHUN: The Chitral-Mastuj road was on Wednesday once again blocked at Reshun after landslide near Shader. 

Traffic between Upper and Lower Chitral districts was closed with a large number people stranded on both sides.

Scores of travellers were also seen crossing the blocked point on foot to reach their destinations. 

The road was washed away by the river at Reshun last year and an alternative road was constructed through private land in the village. 

However, the river erosion intensified this year due to which the alternative road along with more land and over a dozen of houses were also destroyed.

On the request of the district administration, local people allowed passage of public transport via their land.

The commuters called upon the district administration to send machinery to the site to reopen the road.

Meanwhile, the district administration has directed the contractor concerned to mobilize its staff and machinery to open the road within an hour.–Sher Afgan Raza
