Fire renders vegetable vendor homeless

CHITRAL: The two-room house of a vegetable vendor was gutted along with all the household items in a fire that suddenly erupted in Muldeh area of Chitral town on Thursday morning, rendering the poor man homeless. 

Adina Muhammad told ChitralToday that he works as a khadim in Atalegh mosque and also sells vegetables to eke out a living. He said he had now become homeless and had no resources to build the house again.

Retired Havaldar Islam Uddin, a neighbour. added that local people were trying to raise the walls of the house but Adina Muhammad needed at least Rs300,000 to rebuild the house. He said well-to-do people should help Adina rebuild the house.–GH Farooqui
