Vaccination of health workers begins in Lower Chitral

CHITRAL: Covid-19 vaccination of frontline health workers, including doctors, has started in Lower Chitral.

In this regard, a function was held at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where the drive was formally launched by inoculating District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Haiderul Mulk and DHQ hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Shamim. Other doctors, including Dr Nisar Ahmed who had contracted the virus a few months ago, were also vaccinated.

The DHO later told ChitralToday that in the first phase only frontline health workers would be vaccinated for which 400 doses had been received by the district health department.

He said two vaccination centres have been set up at the DHQ hospital and one each at Arandu, Drosh, Ayun, Koghuzi, and Garam Chashma.–GH Farooqui
