Shandur, Garam Chashma roads transferred to NHA

CHITRAL: The 147-kilometre Chitral-Shandur Road and 82-kilometre Chitral-Gobor Road were formally transferred to the National Highway Authority (NHA) from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department on Tuesday.

Two roads have recently been federalised by the federal government with 100 per cent mutation of right of way by the provincial government in the name of NHA.

The Chitral-Shandur road has not been repaired even after over two decades and is in a poor shape. The federalization of the rods in Chitral took areas due to which their reconstruction was further delayed.

The federalization of the roads in Chitral was approved in May 2020.
