Four patients go home after recovering from coronavirus
- Total confirmed coronavirus cases in Chitral: 28; recovered: five; active: 23.
- Lower Chitral total cases: 23; Upper Chitral: five.
- Quarantine camps in Lower Chitral: 85; Chitral town 63, Drosh 22.
- Total quarantined: 1,584, discharged: 1,465.
CHITRAL: Four patients who were the first to test positive for the coronavirus in Chitral were on Thursday sent home after recovering from the coronavirus.
These patients tested negative for the virus for two consecutive times within the span of 24 hours.
The patients were presented garlands and gifts before sending them home by the doctors at the District Headquarters Hospital Lower Chitral.
These patients are: Shahabuddin of Chew Dok, Sher Nawaz of Garam Chashma, Rehmat Wali Khan and Shams Akber of Chomorkhon.
Addressing the four, deputy medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Israruddin and focal person on COVID-19 Dr Abbas asked them to follow precautions including social distancing at home.
After the recovery of the four patients, now there are 24 positive cases in Chitral. As many as 19 of the patients are in lower and five in upper Chitral districts.
The first positive case of COVID-19 was reported in Lower Chiral on April 19 and in Upper Chitral on April 21. At present, around 600 people who returned from different cities are on quarantine in over 80 quarantine centres in the Chitral town and Drosh.
In Upper Chitral, most of the people returning from outside are being sent to their homes with the direction to self-isolate them.–Bashir Hussain Azad
