Fourth patient also tests negative for COVID-19

BOONI: The fourth patient also tests negative for coronaviris in Chitral.

The fourth suspected patients was admitted to the tehsil headquarters hospital Booni three days ago, ChitralToday has learnt.

Zubair Ahmed, 18, was admitted to the THQ hospital with the symptoms of the virus about a week after returning from Punjab.

However, the result of sample sent to Peshawar showed that he was not suffering from the coronavirus.

Three suspected patients in Chitral had earlier also tested negative. There is no confirmed case of the virus in whole Chitral.

The three patients were earlier sent to Peshawar for the corona test but now instead of suspected patients their samples are dispatched for lab test in Peshawar.

In the meanwhile, 83 out of the 1,300 doctors urgently appointed to deal with the outbreak in KP have been sent to Chitral and they have resumed their duties in both the districts.

Moreover, a large number of people who returned form different cities have been kept in quarantine centers across Upper Chitral and some of them have already been allowed to go home after completion of the two-week period.

But the hospitals in Chitral are facing a shortage of personnel protection equipment for doctors and paramedical staff and people have demanded the government also resolve this issue.
