CHITRAL: A protest was held against the poor service of Telenor in Chitral on Friday.
Addressing the protesters, khateeb of Shahi Masjid Molana Israruddin Al-Hilal, Jamaat-e-Islami Youth wing president Wajihuddin, traders’ union chief Shabbir Ahmed, PTI district general secretary Aminur Rehman and drivers union’s Sabir Ahmed said despite repeated demand by the consumers the mobile phone service provider had failed to improve its service in Chitral.
They said about 92 per cent of mobile phone users in Chitral were Telenor subscribers but the company was least bothered to improve its service and facilitate the consumers.
Moreover, instead of taking care of its consumers, the company filed a case in the high court against senior journalist Saifur Rehman Aziz for pointing out its poor service in Chitral, the speakers added.
The protesters gave the company one week’s deadline and warned that if it failed to improve its service they would boycott it.—Syed Nazir Hussain Shah
