CHITRAL: Former provincial minister and PPP Chitral president Salim Khan criticized Chief Minister Mahmood Khan for opening the plaque of the Govt Girls Degree College Drosh building to take credit for the project which was initiated during the tenure of the PPP.
In a statement, he said the girls college in Drosh was initiated on his personal efforts during the tenure of the ANP-PPP government in KP. He said he had laid the foundation of the college building which was to be completed in two years but the PTI government did not release funds for the project on time during its previous tenure.
The college still is without water and electricity and staff is also yet to be hire. But even then, then the chief minister did not lose the opportunity to claim credit and play politics and opened the plaque of the building. Had the government been serious, classes would have been started in the college by now, he added.
The former minister said during his day-long visit to Chitral the chief minister did not listen to the people about the issues and neither indicated launch of any projects.
The PTI government has failed to launch any project rather dropped a number of welfare projects, including Chitral-Garam Chashma, Shandur roads, installation of gas plants and university of Chitral, initiated by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from the PSDP.
It is also the failure of the PTI government that it could not initiated reconstruction of the Reshun powerhouse that was damaged in the 2015 floods. He said after four years, the government launched the reconstruction work but it should be completed within a year.
