Illegal restoration of Levies officials costs Rs70m

CHITRAL:  An audit report has found irregularities in the affairs of Chitral Levies Force.

The irregularities have been found in a joint audit report of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department and Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON). The audit found that retired officials of Chitral Levies were restored on their jobs illegally. It said former deputy commissioner Chitral Aminul Haq had illegally restored these officials to give them promotions. The report said this step has caused loss of Rs70 million to the national exchequer so far. It further said the illegally restored Levies officials are still receiving salaries and other perks three years after their retirements.]]>
