Soon after the collapse of the bridge, the then DC Chitral Osama Ahmad Waraich, MNA Shahzada Iftikharuddin, MPA Sardar Hussain, district nazim Maghfirat Shah and others visited the house of Mr Ayubi for condolence and announced that his dues would be cleared within a month. They had promised that the liabilities of the contractors would be paid from the disaster funds provided by the government. However, he added, after a year the government had failed to pay even a single rupee to the family of the deceased contractor. It is ironic that the government departments got the road reconstructed through the contractor and after his death have adopted a criminal negligence to clear his dues. He warned that if the payments were not made to the family of the deceased, the local people would launch a protest against this injustice.]]>
