Only mini-trucks carrying essential items of daily use will be allowed to pass through the tunnel in a convoy of 20 to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic carrying passengers.
The tunnel should remain open for at least three days a week otherwise people will face difficulties in the winter.
This is really shocking news for us that Lawari Tunnel will be opened only for ‘one day’ in a week, which is completely unrealistic and unfair decision from the authorities. How it is possible that if a person need to travels down country and finished his / her work, then supposed to wait for a week. Secondly, if weather condition doesn’t allow to travel back then it means two or more weeks will be required for a piece of work which lead to waist precious time and huge resources just for sake of waiting. So, the authorities are requested to review decision and consider at least 3-4 days in a week.
