In a statement sent to the press on Wednesday, Parwaz said that the people of Booni had donated free of cost land for the construction of the campus building two years ago. However, the file for initiating the construction work faced red tape at the office of senior member Board of Revenue despite the fcat that the residents continued visiting the office to expedite the case.
He said that under the law the land for the campus was to be arranged by the provincial government while the building was to be constructed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Though the land was provided free of cost by the local people, the provincial government did not take any step to complete the work and was adamant on shelving the project. This showed the anti-education policy of the PTI-led government, he added.
The PML-N leader said that the 300,000 people of upper Chitral were now looking towards the KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra to intervene in the matter as the chancellor of the university and direct the provincial government and the education department to ensure the construction of the building for the campus.]]>
