Mobile phone service reaches Yarkhun valley
DIZG (YARKHUN): A private mobile phone service providing company has launched its service in lower Yarkhun valley of Upper Chitral by installing a tower in Khuz.
With this, villages up to Baang have been connected with other parts of the world for the first time.
The company switched on its tower in the Khuz village two days ago but then shut it off due to some technical faults. On Wednesday, the company started regular service in the area.
One of the residents of Dizg told ChitralToday that with the launch of the service he rushed to Mastuj and bought a Telenor SIM and got connected with his relatives in Karachi in the evening. He said about 50 per cent of the people of his village had already bought mobile sets.
