KP govt announces Rs140 million for flood-hit Chitral

PESHAWAR, July 21: KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Tuesday appreciated army’s relief efforts in the flood-devastated Chitral valley.
In a press statement issued from Peshawar, the chief minister said that supplying food packets to the affected people in far-off areas of the mountainous valley was not possible for the government and it could have only be done by the army. He also thanked the corps commander Peshawar for paying a visit to Chitral to oversee the relief work.
The chief minister said due to bad weather he could not visit Chitral on Tuesday and would be accompanying PTI chief Imran Khan to the area on Wednesday.
He said that an amount of 140 million rupees had been allocated by the provincial government for the flood-hit Chitral out of which Rs100 million would be spent on the restoration of the damaged roads and bridges.
