Chitrali man goes missing from Peshawar
CHITRAL, June 2: Mr. Maqsad Khan s/o Purdum Khan, resident of Parabeg Garam Chashma, is missing for six days while returning home from Quetta.
According to his home sources, Khan called last time to his home on June 17 saying that he was in Peshawar and soon will set off for Chitral. Since then, his mobile phone is not responding.
According to Mr.Rahmatullah from Beshqer Garam Chashma, who was also coming home from Peshawar, he meet Khan in Peshawer where he showed him his ticket he bought from the Mayon Ada at Qisa Khawani Bazar. After meeting him, Mr. Rahmatullah left for Chitral in another vehicle and Mr.Maqsad was waiting to leave for Chitral by another vehicle. But this is quite surprising that despite getting ticket there is no entry of his name in the register of Mayon Ada. This is also questionable that despite getting ticket why his name and other information are missing in the register at Mayon Ada and where the person gone after getting ticket.
As report of his disappearance has been conveyed to Peshawar police where they are investigating the matter but no progress has been made so far. Anyone having knowledge about the whereabouts of Mr Maqsad Khan should contact Farhad Khan at this number:0336-9492290.
Welcome brother, and congratulation to the family. The problem with us, the people of Chitral is that we have to bear the brunt of these nuisance in the form of Checkpoints. In fact these checkpoints have been useless since the very start. These have served no purpose except travel delays, intimidation and misbehaving with the general public by the personnel. No instance is available that a single terrorist was intercepted through these check posts. I wonder why can’t these soldiers manning these checkpoints can be put to some productive use rather than obstructing smooth travel of weary passengers.
Now there seems some connection to say that he may be in the custody of these check posts sentries. Actually those at guard there are soldiers who have no experience of dealing with public. They are very uncivilized and will not give any detail unless some pressure comes from above. Try your best to get info from there bro.
Dear Didar brother, yes this was the same case and the young man found in the custody of Army there at Dargai. Actually he had duplicate ID card and his name was wrongly written as Maqsood in the ADA register. Secondly, a brother who was trying to reach him told that during checking, Mr.Maqsad Khan told at the check post that he was an ex army-man but when they asked to show the card he had nothing. Because he was lying. This was the actual reason the Army man detained him. You are right, most of soldiers at the checkpoints do not know how to deal with public. If they find any suspect or a person lying or any person who have duplicate ID card they should properly interrogate at that moment, or in one or two days. Also they should inform the family members of the detained person so that they may not face such a hard situation which we have faced these days. Keeping the entire family in dark, not contacting the local police station to inform about the person is a height of cruelty and willfully torturing the entire people of the region. We all should raise hands against such illegal detention of the people because all these incidents are becomes common these days. Thank you very much Didar Nazar bhai, your timely comment helped us to get some clue regarding Maqsad being in the custody of Army.
Didar brother, after going though your comment I am doubtful that this man (Maqsad Khan) has also worked as batman of an army man in Quetta. May be he is detained by Army or any other agencies, or he might have been detained by the robbers and other. But the question is why all such incidents are common only in Peshawar and its jurisdiction. The authorities should heed on all such cases which is really very disturbing. The family members of the missing man are in a state of severe tension. And since then no progress have been made by the authorities, so far.
This is very disturbing especially for the family. We went through the same agony too. I want to share it here. A month ago, one of my cousin while returning from Saudi Arabia went missing after reaching Peshawar and getting ticket to Chitral. After running pillar to post and searching for him for five days we came to know that he was detained by Army at Dargai Check Post. Initially, the Army-men at the check post refused to have him with them, however some calls from their higher ups compelled them his to divulge the matter. At last after 7 days, he was released by the authorities. The charge for his detention was that he had served as Batman with some Army official previously which he has latter on quit to got to Saudi Arabia. Even the official concerned who employed him expressed ignorance regarding objective of his detention.
This above mentioned case may not be exactly the same, but it may be helpful to make sure that a similar incident has not been repeated with our brother in this case.
