CHITRAL, March 14: The Chitral town is finally set to have a two megawatt hydel power station to be constructed by the SRSP.
A press release said that Shahzada Masood ul Mulk, the chief executive officer of the SRSP, took personal interest in resolving the long-lasting power crisis of the Chital town. The SRSP conducted technical surveys in different locations near Chitral but finally decided to construct the two megawatt hydel power house at Golen, some 28 km from the Chitral town.
Mr Masoodul Mulk has given approval to the multi-million project to electrify the town. People of Chitral town have lauded the services of SRSP and thanked Masood ul Mulk for taking personal interest in this project.
It is pertinent to mention that the district capital has been facing electricity problems for the last many years and political parties as well as civil society were asking the government to resolve the issue. The project would be completed within a year. Formal inauguration of the work on the scheme will be conducted on March 17.
