Registration of FIR against four C&W dept officials sought

Sajidullah Advocate submitted the application to the station house officer (SHO) Chitral for lodging the FIR against Muhammad Asif Imran, the executive engineer; Hammad Khan Orakzai, secretary C&W ; Ijaz Khan Yousafzai, chief engineer C&W, and Arshah Shaheen of Shaheen Construction Company, the contractor for the Chitral bypass road portion No 1 for the death of Abdul Haleem, son of Rehmat Wali Shah, a resident of Shagram, Terich. Talking to this correspondent, Sajidullah Advocate said due to the negligence of C&W department staff and the suspension of work on the project for so many years as well as blocking of half of the road with fallen stones, the motorcyclist lost his life. He said the contractor put heavy stones after compaction on half portion of the road as a result the people were forced to travel under the hills where heavy stones continued rolling down off and on. He said the contractor disturbed the hard rocks but did nothing for the protection of the commuters leading to landsliding. He said last year heavy debris, stones and a big portion of the mountain slipped on the road which remained blocked for a long time. When contacted, the SHO police station Chitral confirmed that he had received an application seeking the registration of an FIR against four persons.
