Heavy rain/snowfall in Chitral

BOONI, Feb 24: Widespread rain/snowfall has been reported from different valleys of Chitral during the 48 hours. By Tuesday afternoon, Booni had received three inch of snow, Warijun five inch, Othol nine inch and 1.6 foot snow in Harchin of Laspur valley. As many as 19 inch of rainfall was recorded at Mirkhani and six inch in Chitral town. With the incessant rain, weather in the area also turned cold and there were also reports that the Chitral-Mastuj road had closed at a number of points after rock/debris fall.—S.N. Peerzada ]]>
