DPO promises stern action against drug peddlers in upper Chitral

BOONI, Jan 26: Deputy Commissioner Chitral Aminul Haq and District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majid Marwat visited Booni on Monday and held an open katchery here.

On the complaint of the residents, the DC promised to consider the opening of the under-construction Lowari tunnel seven days a week.

The residents also demanded that the government should take steps to resolve the prolonged power loadshedding in Booni. They also complained that the SRSP had delayed the construction of small powerhouses in the area.

The DPO said that stern action would be taken against drug peddlers and all the exit and entry points of upper Chitral would be manned by extra personnel of the police. He also said that the watchmen of all government schools would be imparted training to deal with any security issue.
