Norway asked not to roll back Chitral project
CHITR AL, Dec 23: The chairmen of 12 local support organisations working on community participatory approach at the union council level have demanded of the Norwegian government to not roll back the Chitral Integrated Area Development Project (CIADP). Addressing a press conference here on Monday, heads of the support organisations, Engineer Mohammad Ayub, Asafandyar Khan, Mudassarul Mulk, Safeerullah and others said that CIADP had been launched by the Norwegian government in 2009 but it was now being phased out without having utilised the allocated funds. They said that over Rs500 million remained unutilised, while intervention in eight union councils was yet to be made. They said that the project carried out development on the identification of local people with special emphasis on health and education. They also appealed to the prime minister to take up the case with the Norway government.–Zahiruddin]]>
