The other side of mirror

The December 16 terrorist attack on the Army Public School Peshawar is so far one of the worst attacks in the history of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan nationwide and worldwide are mourning the death of the innocent children and staff and at the same time the western media and politicians are on their peak of creating false news and spreading negative impact about our country. The statement of Mr David Cameron shocked me when stated that “children are being killed simply for going to school.” It is quite clear that Mr. Cameron is just blind about what the reason of this attack was. Mr. Cameron must know that the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack as a revenge for the military operation against Taliban in the so-called “War on Terror”. Their statement gives a much clear picture: “We targeted the school because the army targets our families. We want them to feel our pain.\” The world should know that Pakistan is not an extremist country where people are killed just because of getting education. If this was true then Mr. Bill Gates would never be able to invite Shayan Aneeq (Microsoft professional who got 998 marks out of 1000) in 2012. Malala Yousafzai could never have received the Noble Prize of 2014. There are so many brilliant students who are getting higher education in the top ranked institutes of the world. Pakistan ranked 23rd among the top 25 countries sending students to the U.S. Every year, the government of Pakistan sends 14 students to study medicine in Bangladesh, selected by a test of National Testing Service. Besides, the increasing ratio of public and private schools, colleges, and universities for higher education within the country is worth self explanatory for those so called well wishers of Pakistan who never miss any chance to present such a beautiful country in negative terms.]]>
