CHITRAL, Dec 17: Civil society organizations expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of the tragic incident of Army Public School Peshawar here on Wednesday and condemned the cowardly act of the terrorists.
In a condolence function held under the aegis of District Awaz Forum of South Asia Partnership (SAP) at Chitral Press Club, the representatives of different organizations lit candles to commemorate the students martyred in the incident while collective fateha khwani was also held for the departed souls.
The district coordinator of SAP, Muhammad Ismail and leaders of different organizations Niaz A Niazi advocate, Bibi Jan, Asia Khatoon, Mubashirul Mulk addressed on the occasion and said that the gory incident has saddened the whole nation but it has boosted up their moral against terrorism.
Jamaat-e-Islami Chitral chapter also took out protest procession against the incident which turned into a public meeting at Pologround addressed by its district amir Maghfirat Shah, Hedayatullah and others.
The traders community observed shutter down strike throughout the day, all the educational institutions remained closed while no public vehicle was seen plying on the roads which brought life to a standstill.]]>
