ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan here on Saturday said the federal government was hindering the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from establishing hydro-power plants in Chitral.
Addressing the sit-in participants, he said Chitral, Swat and Gilgit-Baltistan had lots of water and tourism resources to exploit for the welfare of the whole country.
Addressing his supporters from Gilgit-Baltistan, the PTI chief said he would bring a new manifesto for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
“I know Pakistan forgot you, but I will not forget you people. The PTI government will give you your rights after coming into power,” he added.
“I have visited beautiful places in Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan which could generate revenue by promoting tourism. I have never seen such beautiful places in the world.” The PTI chief said the PML-N government was establishing six power plants and would import coal from other countries to run them.
“Is it not possible for the government to set up power plants in Karachi because coal will be imported through the port of Karachi. It will cost additional money of the taxpayers to transport the imported coal from Karachi to Punjab,” he added.]]>
