People of Chitral have won my heart, says Brazilian engineer
DROSH, Oct 3: An engineer from Brazil here showered all praise on the people of Chitral for their hospitality, love of peace and unique traditions and culture. “After coming to Chitral a few months ago, I have been feeling at home,” Sergio Gomes DeSalva told a cheering crowd at the conclusion of a football tournament at Murad Stadium where he was the chief guest. Mr DeSalva has been working as the consultant engineer at the Golen Gol hydropower project. He said he had found the people of Chitral as sincere, caring and peaceful. Besides, the weather and topography of both Chitral and Brazil were the same. Moreover, the people of Brazil and Chitral also have lots of similarities and both loved peace and also accommodated outsiders. Engineer DeSalva said Chitral’s youth had huge potential and if they were provided appropriate opportunities they would have a niche for themselves in all fields of life everywhere in the world. The Brazilian guest also thanked the organizers and participants of the tournament for the warm reception and said he would never forget the gesture of the people of Chitral. Later, talking to ChitralToday correspondent, Mr DeSalva said that he was very happy to be working among such a peace-loving and sincere people. He said though he had come to Chitral only a few months ago, the people of the valley had won his heart by their sincerity and love of peace. He said he wished to remain among the people of Chitral as long as he could. The third Pakistan Zindabad Football Tournament was organized by the New Star Sports Club Kuru, Drosh. In the final match, Brother Eleven football team of Pothian Deh defeated Sambu Golen football team through a penalty stroke. Israr Ahmed of the Brother Eleven was declared man of the tournament while Hassan Saeed was declared as the man of the match. A large number of people from the Drosh town and nearby areas were present on the occasion. ]]>
