Students thank MPA, AC for resolving college's issues
PESHAWAR, Sept 14: Since its establishment in 2009, the Government Girls Degree College Booni had been facing many problems, including the shortage of teachers and permanent principal and the lack of basic facilities such as hostel and drinking water. The issues were brought into the notice of the authorities concerned from time to time but all in vain. Recently, the PTI government introduced teacher assistants through ETEA, but due to the strike of the provincial government the selection process suffered a delay. Against the insufficient staff the students of the college had given twice notices to the concerned authorities like education department, district administration and the tehsil administration and warned of a strike after the deadline. Talking to ChitralToday, Information Secretary of Chitral Students’ Association, Zafar Ahmad, said despite the notices of strike from the students their issues were ignored, especially by the education department, which showed no interest towards resolving the issues. He further said that due to lack of DDO authority the college could not hire teachers. Responding to the notices of students, MPA Upper Chitral and Assistant Commissioner Menhaj Uddin showed personal interests in resolving the issues of the students. The assistant commissioner accepted the additional responsibility of the DDO and along with the cooperation of MPA Sardar Hussain the college were provided staffs. The MPA assured the college staff of his full cooperation and support. The representative of Chitral Students’ Association told ChitralToday that on behalf of the students, staff of the college and the local community, they were extremely thankful to the MPA and the assistant commissioner Subdivision Mastuj and that without their support the issues would have never been addressed! The Students’ Representative further said that we are hopeful the MPA’s next support will be the provision of facilities for girls at hostel!]]>
I have obtained 60.25% marks in ETEA test held in Sawat some three or four months before by securing 1st position among chitrali male and female students in the subject English but unfortunately still waiting for some call or appointment letter from education department, the appointment process is very slow and discouraging no appointments has been made yet in any Degree college in Chitral.
dear,
there were some deficiencies in the documents of few candidates so time has been given to those candidates. Moreover, after filling all codal formalities the Directorate will forward the appointment cases to Higher edu dept to notify it very soon. wait
This is not the proper solution of the staff shortage in GGDC Booni. To mix the male staff with female is against the values of Islam as well as our cultural values. We condemn this decision taken by MPA and Assistant Commissioner. Test and interview of teaching Assistant have already been finalized, need to give follow up by MPA Sardar Hussain in order to speed up the process and send them to their relevant colleges as soon as possible. Sardar Hussain is fond to become chief guest in tournaments and wasting their valuable times in such a useless activities. Who will realize them of his responsibilities?
All the students of GGDC Booni Chitral are thankful to Mr.Minhaz assistant commissioner Mastuj for taking interest in the problems of the college. GGDC Booni since its establishment in 2009 has been facing the problem of teachers and principal. The college is being treated as orphans. Once again thanks to Mr.Minhaz and MPA Mr.Sardar Hussain.
The issue of shortage of teachers and other facilities like hostel, drinking water, transport, boundary wall etc were there at Govt Degree College Booni when i was a student of the said college. After hectic efforts we with the support of the then MPA jahangir were able to address some issues permanently while others temporarily with the support of provincial govt i.e. edu dept. The issue at hand should properly be addressed by MPA and college administration with support of provincial govt. the temporary solution of the issue by AC Mastuj and MPA is not enough. I personally advice all concerned to take up the case with provincial govt and press it hard, pursue it till its permanent solution.
