Road closure during IGP's visit irks Chitralis

CHITRAL, June 5: During the visit of Nasir Khan Durrani, the inspector general of KP police, to Chitral, the local police treated the guest as a VVIP ignoring the inconvenience to the citizens. The IGP inaugurated the new barracks for the policemen but during the event the hospital road and other thoroughfares were made a no-go area for the citizens. Even patients and their attendants commuting to and from the district headquarters hospital were not allowed movement. It short the visit of the IGP became a cause of hardship and trouble for the residents of Chitral. Many citizens were heard criticizing the police for creating trouble for them and said blocking roads was uncalled for during the police officers’ visit.]]>
