Damaged power transmission line yet to be repaired
PESHAWAR, Feb 10 (APP): The majority areas of Chitral plunged into darkness as the main power transmission line linking Chitral with the national grid station in Dir was damaged due to heavy snowfall. As a result, power supply was suspended to Chital on Sunday making it very difficult for the dwellers to carry out their routine activities. Meanwhile, parts of Chitral are provided electricity three times a week from the one megawatt powerhouse in Singoor. According to PESCO officials, the repair work could not be carried out due to bad weather and heavy snowfall on the Lowari pass. It is pertinent to mention that the transmission line is damaged in Lowari Top area where access is difficult due to the heavy snowfall. Social and political circles of the area have requested the government to provide border police and Chitral Scouts for facilitation of WAPDA officials to expedite the repair work in Lowari area.]]>
