Bhutto remembered as Chitralis' benefactor

CHITRAL, Jan 5: A small gathering of workers and activists of the Pakistan People Party (PPP) Chitral gathered at the town hall to celebrate the 85th birth anniversary of party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on Monday. bhuttoThe gathering was presided over by senior vice-president of the party Syed Burhan Shah Advocate. The participants, including representatives from different parts of the valley,  also cut a cake on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Burhan Shah Advocate said that as prime minister of Pakistan Mr Bhutto raised the status of the country at the international level. He also worked for the promotion of unity among the Islamic countries by holding an Islamic summit in Lahore. He added that Bhutto was the well wisher of the poor people of Chitral and the subsidy on wheat and initiation of work on the Lowari tunnel were some of the gifts he gave to the people of this far-off valley.
