Khowar poets asked to spread message of peace
CHITRAL, Oct 6: A Mushaira was organized in connection with the ongoing Jashn-e-Chitral in which more than 100 poets from across Chitral participated. Nazir Hussain[/caption] The unique thing about the Mushaira held in the town hall was the participation of famous poets Abdul Khaliq Taj, Tauseef Hassan and Zafar Taj from Gilgit-Baltistan who have especially been invited to take part in the 10-day-long festival. Deputy Commissioner Chitral Muhammad Shoaib Jadoon was the chief guest, while famous poet of Khowar language and educationist Amenur Rehman Chughtai presided over the programme. Assistant Commissioner Chitral Noorul Amin, welcoming the guests, said that poets can play a pivotal role in conveying the message of peace and brotherhood to the people. Afterwards, the poets coming from all parts of Chitral presented their pieces of poetry which were highly appreciated by the audience. Famous singer from Gilgit-Baltistan Javid Saba also enthralled the audience by singing Shena and Khowar songs. Those who presented their poems included Maula Nigah Nigah, Saleh Wali Azad, Abdul Wali Abid, Abdul Ghani alias Dul Mama, Sadat Hussain Mukhfi, Shehzad Ahmed Shehzad, Jamshed Hussain Arif, Khalid Bin Wali, Zakir Muhammad Zakhmi, Sadiqullah Sadiq and poets from GB Abdul Khaliq Taj, Tauseef Hassan and Zafar Taj. The father of deputy commissioner Chitral Advocate Adam Khan Jadoon was also present on the occasion. ]]>
