BOONI, April 4: Speakers at a condolence reference held at the Degree College for Boys Booni, Chitral, paid glowing tributes to the late Sardar Ahmad Khan of Kosht – a legendary polo player, an educationist, expert in falconry and a social activist who passed away on January 27, 2013.
The Brilliance School of Studies (BSS) Kosht and the Shandur Travels and Tours organized the event. People from all walks of life participated in the ceremony. Member Pak-India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy, renowned politician- social worker and ex MPA Mr Zainul Abiddin presided over the session and seasoned educationist and intellectual Mr Mukaram Shah was the guest of honor. The session started with the recitation from the Holy Quran and Principal BSS Kosht welcomed the guests. Maulana Sirajudidn offered Fateha and eulogized the services of late Sardar Ahmad Khan as a teacher and community developer.
Mr Asad Ur Rehman representing education department presented a paper covering all aspects of the life of late Sardar ahmand i.e. as a teacher, a social worker and agriculturist having all the qualities of a good leader. He covered teaching capabilities and other such qualities of Sardar Ahmad Khan other than his expertise in the field of falconry and Polo. He also appreciated the management of BSS Kosht and Shandur travels for arranging this historical event in the memory of Chitral’s hero.
Representing the Polo Association Chitral, Retd. Subedar Muhammad Hashim Khan of Charun highlighted the qualities of the aforementioned as a skillful player of Polo beside being a good human being. He added that late Sardar Ahmad Khan`s career started in 1974 with the award of Man of the Tournament right from the first participation in the district polo tournament. He further said that Sardar Ahmad Khan was a peerless polo player; his whole career which covers a period of 39 years shows his dominancy in the game of polo inside Chitral as well as at Shandur polo ground, it was due to Sardar`s contribution, strategies and skills that sub division Mastuj won the District trophy for 13 years consecutively.
Representing the general public Sardar Hussain of Booni said that some people become immortal due to their innumerable achievements, skills, talents and contribution and Sardar was one like that. He said, “Brave people never die”. Ustad Murad of Ali Abad Morder a school fellow of late Sardar Ahmad Khan shared with the participants his experience of being a school fellow and a friend. He added that right from that time late Sardar Ahmad khan was a symbol of generosity and well-wisher for others.
Chief guest Mr. Mukaram Shah in his address appreciated the effort done by the management of BSS and Shandur Travels and tours in the memory of the great hero of Chital. He further said that Sardar Ahmad Khan was practically what the three words of his name indicate. The president of the session Mr. Zianul Abiddin in his presidential address appreciated the arrangement of such a historical event in the honor of a historical person. He said that no doubt, it indicates the love, reparation that people in particular and in general feel after the departure of Sardar Ahmad Khan. He said, “Sardar Ahmad Khan was an Ambassador of Peace.” Apart from the speeches, many poets presented their elegies, which created a particular atmosphere leaving everyone with tears. All the records of achievements of Sardar Ahmad Khan including pictures and videos were also displayed through multimedia.
Mr Adnan Zainul-Abideen, Chairman BOD BSS Kosht, shared objectives of the newly-established institution and said that a great vision is attached with BSS to make this one of the best educational institutions of the country in near future, Insha Allah. Mr Adnan Zain with Naqeeb Ahmad, the Proprietor Shandur Travels and Tours, presented their vote of thanks to the participants, guests, BSS team, and Principal of GDC Booni, Eng Mehboob Rehman for their full cooperation and participation. The program ended with the prayers for the departed soul offered by Abdul Akbar Chitrali Ex MNA Chitral. Mr Noorul Saba, Naman Zainul Abideen administrator BSS and Allaudin Urfi Principal Paragon College of Commerce Booni performed their duties as masters of the ceremony.
