Man booked in house fire case

CHITRAL, July 16: The Mulkhow police have registered a case against one Shamsuddin for allegedly setting on fire the house of a resident of Bumbagh. Amir Hussain Danish alias Pir Danish complained to the police that he had some dispute with Shamsuddin, son of Rozgar, who works with the Chitral Scouts. A day before his house was gutted in a mysterious fire, he alleged, Shamsuddin called him and threatened him of dire consequences. At night when he was sleeping in his other house, his second house was set ablaze in which cattle and other household items were destroyed. Police investigating officer Mohammad Yaqub said they had started a probe into the case but the accused had not yet been arrested. Mr Danish appealed to the inspector general of Frontier Corps, the IGP of KPK and the chief justice of Peshawar High Court to take action against the man and pay him compensation.—G.H. Farooqui]]>
