Girl commits suicide after failing in exam; private schools grab top positions
Report G.H. Farooqui & Waqar Ahmed CHITRAL, June 14: A female student committed suicide after failing in her matriculation examination in upper Chitral. According to police reports, Mahboba Bibi, daughter of Pesham Nabi, a resident of Parwak, committed suicide by jumping into the river after failing in the matriculation examination. In another incident, Taj Bibi, daughter of Ahmadi Khan, a resident of Charun Oveer, also jumped into Chitral river after quarrelling with her family members over some domestic dispute. The bodies of the tow women were recovered from the river by local volunteers and handed over to their family members for burial. Position Holders: The following students obtained top positions in the district in the secondary school certificate (SSC) annual examination 2012. Qazi Tauseef Ahmed, son of Qazir Sharif Ahmed, of Broze Public School and College, Broze, remained first with 895 marks out of the total 1,050. The second position was grabbed by Nighat Tariq, daughter of Mohammad Tariq, of Muslim Model School, Jughur, with 882 marks. Arshi Afsar, daughter of Afsar Khan, belonging from Bakrabad, has got third possition in the district.She attributed her success to her parents’ prayers and hard work. In class 9th, Azharduddin Azad, son of Rehmat Wali Khan, of Broze Public School, remained first with 473 marks out of 525 marks, while Jamshed Ahmed, son of Sardar Ahmed, of the same school stood second with 464 marks. ]]>
