Dr Faizi's literary services eulogized
Report Waqar Ahmad CHITRAL, May 14: A function was organized in honour of famous literary figure, columnist and author Dr Innayatullah Faizi, who was recently awarded the prestigious Tama-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his meritorious services in the field of literature and education. The colourful program was organized by DCO Rehmatullah Wazir in collaboration with Anjuman Taraq-e-Khowar in Town Hall and attended by a large number of people belonging to different walks of life. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Faizi thanked the district government, particularly the DCO, and the Anjuman Taraq-e-Khowar for arranging the program in his honour. He regretted that the former district nazim had proposed his name twice for nomination for the award to the provincial government but the latter due to unknown reasons did not forward his name to the federal government. This time the sitting government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa put forward his name along with Younus Qiyasi, an eminent Urdu columnist, Professor Hamid Khan and Dr Zabita Khan Shinwari, an agronomist of international repute, and his name was dully recommended by the President of Asif Ali Zardari to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for which he is thankful to both federal and provincial governments. Addressing the gathering, the DCO lauded the efforts of Dr Faizi for the promotion literature, particularly Khowar language. He said Dr Faizi was not only an asset of Chitral but also the entire Pakistani nation should feel proud of him. Others who spoke on the occasion included Major G. D. Langlands, Colonel retired Sardar Ahmad, Maulla Nigah, Sultan Mehmood, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Abdul Wali Advocate, Professor Mumtaz Hussain, Saeed Ahmad Khan and Subedar Shah Alam. They paid rich tribute to Dr Faizi.]]>
