CHITRAL, June 20: The Board of Governors (BoG) of the Langlands School and College, Chitral, has expressed its full and unconditional support for the Principal, Miss Carey Schofield.
Miss Schofield took over from Mr Geoffrey Langlands in March 2013 when Mr Langlands retired after two decades of dedicated service to the school. By this time, it had become physically impossible for him to perform his functions.
“The BoG acknowledges that because of declining age the last years of Mr Langlands were not the best years of his illustrious career. Many people took advantage of this situation and the new Principal had to undertake the herculean task of cleaning up the stables,” sources close to the BoG told ChitralToday on Saturday.
The BoG said she had had the full support of the governing body in this endeavour and enjoys wide credibility in Chitral among parents, students and the wider public.
The BoG at its meeting said: “Some teachers who have lost their jobs as a result of the new Principal’s decisions have been running a campaign to malign her. They have abused Mr Langlands by persuading him to support their efforts and to issue orders dissolving the properly-constituted Governing Body and to dismiss Miss Schofield.”
The sources quoted the BoG as saying that Mr Langlands was neither the founder nor the owner of the school. He has no authority to issue any instructions whatsoever concerning the school.
“Unscrupulous elements have manipulated him to use his reputation and to undermine the school. Although his behaviour may be explained by his age and ill health, there is no doubt that his conduct has been unethical. The governing body would like to place on record the courage and integrity that Miss Schofield has shown in tackling the problems of the school from the front. An individual of lesser integrity would have compromised and reached solutions which would have come at a terrible cost to the school. As a talented leader she has the capacity and the will to take the school to new heights,” it added.

There is no BOG, it has been dissolved along with the old lady. These are rumors spreading by her paid Supporter. You would also be taken to task insha’Allah.
SOME ACHIEVEMENTS DURING CAREY’S REGIME 2012-2015:
1) School fees raised by 200% in just two years.
2) In 2014 a female student fainted at 9:00am in Dolomuch, her condition was critical but Carey refused to provide school vehicle to take her to hospital, until she managed to contact family somehow & they rushed there & took her to hospital at 12:30, neither was she given any kind of first aid at school. ( TLSC has More than 8 school buses & vans donated by students of Sir Langlands). Same kind of incident took place with 3 other students & same response from kind madame Carey. Sir Langlands used to take students even with minor cases of headache to hospital in school bus.
3) The same students who used drugs in Tora Bora are part of new faculty of madame Carey especially two teachers Tom & Jerry (what students used to call them) were drug addict later rehabilitated British boys.
4) Faculty of Sir Langlands were renowned Master degree holders in respective fields while most of newly hired staff of Carey are second & third division Bachelors.
5) Langlands school cricket team was always Australia of Chitral with every expenditure borne by school. Miss Carey introduced sports week every Saturday, collected handsome money from every student as sports fee & after all those efforts, TLSC cricket team degraded to Afghanistan status among chitral schools.
6) Carey introduced dance culture (In typical Urdu Tawaif) amongst female students that was demonstrated in events organised under madame Carey patronage.
In a nutshell, Chitral needs Carey Schofield so that its students can grow to become Tom&Jerry.
Sir Langlands will definitely run away if he reads this, just show him these achievements of MADAME CAREY.

Dear Abid bhai, you are wrong about Madame Carey. I am a student of the Langlands School and I want to say that she should be back as soon as possible. You know what is the reason I am saying this, the reason is that we are enjoying quality education because of her, as I have seen that with my eyes. And I know, you like sir Langlands but please don’t hate Madame Carey.
We want Madam Carey back.
@Insha: Little sister, I do not hate Miss Carey, rather critical of her few actions. The respect which I have for my teachers, especially Ma’am (your mother) is beyond all suspicions. I owe her as much as I owe sir Langlands. For she is next to my mother. I stop right here & will not pen down anymore comments.

What are you talking about? We all know that our respected Major Langlands did alot for the School but few things need to be understood.
1. He was not owner or founder of the School , it was Javed Majid the then DCO who with help of Miss Sophie Swire and other established the School.
2.Major Langlands was appointed Principal of the School two years after its founding.
3. In 2013 at the time of retirement of Major Langlands a registered Governing Body for the School was established and was authorized to oversee the school and acts as Board. This body is a registered entity and still governs the School.
4. Major Langlands after years of hunt found Mis Carey , resigned from his post as principal and left for Lahore. He had himself handed over the School after which he has no authority or control over the School
5. The recent move through which illegal decisions were being tried to impose over the School were condemned by Governing Body, Teachers and students of the School , that is evident from the ‘We Want Carey’ messages
6. The current result of Metric shows the improvement in education and standard of the School after Carey took over almost all girls secured an A (grades).
7. Stop politicizing this School and let it function independently. Such acts and trying to impose oneself over the School will be condemned by Chitralis as well as authorities
Mr.Abdul Sattar, let me clarify all the fabricated points raised by you in support of the ex old lady principal, Carey Schofield.
(1).Though Mr.Langlands was not the founder of the school yet he was the man who set up the senior section; raised funds; purchased land for the school and established Langlands endowment trust for the school. In recognition of his services the school was renamed after him and he was made life time patron in chief of the school that means he is the dejure as well as defacto owner of the school.
(2).Yes,Major Langlands was appointed after two years after the school was founded by Mr. Majid but established by Major Langlands during his 24 years of stay in Chitral helping the nascent sapling grow into a fruit bearing tree. But Carey struck the very roots of the tree and made an awful mess of it within two years of her appointment.
(3) The governing body has no legal status as it has already been dissolved by Mr. Langlands.
(4)It was not Mr. Langlands who found Ms. Carey but she was the hand pick of Captain Siraj to grind his own axe beguiling the teachers of the senior section.
(5). The recent move was legally indispensable as the school was being run on the dictates of a hotel owner. Now Carey has been completely exposed, no one wants her back, the messages on social media were just a dirty trick if that is the case you may find influx of ‘Go Carey Go’ messages pouring in into the social media. (6) I think you have gone through the result book with your nose rather than your eyes.
As compared to the result of other schools, TLSC result is very poor. Yes, the girls have shown good result as has been the case with other schools as well. I will paste the result of TLSc boys here for the viewers to make it more clear. Last but not the least, we will not allow a few self interested individual to hijack the school in the garb of quality education. You can make fool a few for all the time; all people for sometime but not all people for all the time.
Belonging to The Langland’s School and college Chitral, I Mahrosh Hussain have seen visible change right in front of my eyes brought by MS. Carey schofild herself. My entire family has gone to this school and its well being is extremely important and close to my heart and one of the vital personalities for doing so is Ma’m. She has taken initiatives to help the school regain its lost standard and I personally thank her for doing so. From the basic infrastructure of the building to the quality of education being imparted within the class rooms, she has taken care of it all. Its heart breaking to see that a person who has done so much for Chitral and its people is not being allowed to pursue her aims and her motives which are being hindered by certain individuals. I pledge all the people to welcome her with open hearts so that she continues to serve the children of Chitral.Now is the time to raise your voice for the right reasons, come join us and our cause! #we are with you Ma’am Carey.
@ Mahrosh: I know very well what kind of quality education was imparted. You can’t expect to pour salt in water & hope it will taste sugar. Go on then sister/brother, name some distinguished faculty members but excluding those who I am pretty sure were about to be axed this year if Carey remained incharge( Our respected senior teachers)???? & how come boys result was very poor this year? & sister/brother, weren’t you a little bit hurt when Sir Langlands badges/ other stuff were burnt? or were You students sleeping in seventh heaven that time?
@Assad: My sympathies are with you. Don’t waste your time anymore. One great news for you and entire, being one of those students of Sayurj Public School who took admission at time of its inauguration and remained part the institution for 14 years, I had a detailed conversation with Mr. Chaudry Nisar. And you know what he is already all clear about the great lady Ms Carey. All this minor delay was to meet the legal procedures as he was waiting for a clearance from our intelligence agencies. The best thing is that he got a very positive response from the agency. Soon, right after Eid-ul-Fitar Miss Carey is COMING BACK to Chitral. We are planning to invite all VIPS of Chitral for a warm welcome. Just chill now and don’t waste your time in writing down so lengthy but fake and lame articles.
