Chitral, March 10, 2026: Police in Drosh have recovered three stolen electric cable drums worth approximately Rs3 million and arrested a suspect involved in the theft, officials said on Monday.
According to the police, a report was registered at Drosh Police Station on March 2, 2026, regarding the theft of three drums of electric cables belonging to the WAPDA.
S special inquiry team was constituted under the supervision of SP Investigation Iqbal Karim to trace the suspects involved in the incident. The team was led by SDPO Drosh Circle Rehman Yousaf and SHO Drosh Police Station SI Bulbul Hassan.
During the investigation, Investigation Officer Hameedur Rehman conducted an operation and recovered all three stolen cable drums. The police also arrested the suspect, identified as Sohail Ahmad, a resident of Baroosht Ayun.
Police said a formal case has been registered against the suspect, and the recovered cables were handed over to WAPDA authorities after completing legal formalities.
