CHITRAL, Nov 1, 2025: Prime Minister of Pakistan paid a private visit to Chitral on October 31, 2025, where he expressed satisfaction over the ongoing development initiatives in the district.
During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the strategic importance of improving Chitral’s connectivity and issued specific directives for a comprehensive review of all major road infrastructure projects in the region.
According to an official communiqué released by the Prime Minister’s Office on November 1, 2025, the Minister for Communications, Secretary of the Communication Division, and the Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission (PMIC) have been directed to visit Chitral on Monday, November 3, to evaluate the status and progress of the region’s key road projects.
The notification further instructs that a detailed report of their findings be submitted to the Prime Minister immediately after the visit.
The directive underscores the government’s renewed focus on infrastructure development in remote and mountainous areas such as Chitral, where road networks are essential for socio-economic growth, tourism, and trade.
Residents of Chitral have welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit and subsequent instructions, expressing optimism that the involvement of senior government officials will help accelerate long-delayed infrastructure projects.
Many locals believe that the improved road connectivity will not only enhance travel and commerce but also help address the recurring problem of isolation during harsh winter months when the region often becomes inaccessible due to snowfall and landslides.
