BOONI: Former provincial minister and Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North chief Inayatullah Khan paid a one-day visit to Upper Chitral, where he addressed a gathering of party workers in Booni.

In his speech, he strongly criticised the provincial government\’s performance, particularly the poor state of road infrastructure in Chitral. He expressed concern over what he called the government’s failure to address basic needs in the region.

Despite being out of power, he said, Jamaat-e-Islami had remained the most active force for public welfare.

“We don’t hold government, but hospitals are ours. During natural disasters, we are the first to arrive. The extensive network of schools across the province is the result of our efforts,” he said.

He added that Jamaat-e-Islami consistently raises its voice for the oppressed whether in Kashmir or Palestine. “If given the opportunity to govern, the people will see what real public service looks like,” he said.

He was accompanied by former Lower Chitral Jamaat-e-Islami chief Haji Maghfirat Shah, Upper Chitral chief Asadur Rehman, former district amir Maulana Javed and other local party leaders.

During his visit, Inayatullah Khan also toured the Upper Chitral Press Club, calling its establishment a milestone for the region’s development and an important platform for local journalism.

He later visited the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School (AKHSS) in Kuragh, where Principal Ms. Sultana gave him a detailed briefing on the school’s 18-year track record, quality education and modern teaching methods. The guests were also presented with gifts.

Inayatullah Khan praised the school’s educational achievements and shared his thoughts in the visitors’ book. He also pledged to further improve Jamaat-e-Islami-managed schools in Chitral and develop them into centres of excellence in education.
