Pickpocketing gang from Punjab busted in Chitral

CHITRAL: Two members of a pickpocketing gang operating in various markets and bus stations in Chitral city have been arrested by Lower Chitral Police.

The police said that the arrests were made possible through continuous surveillance using modern CCTV cameras connected to the Command and Control Center.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspects were identified and apprehended after a period of close observation using the surveillance system.

DSP Headquarters Tamizuddin, along with traffic wardens, reached the scene and arrested the culprits identified as Babar Abbas, son of Ghulam Sarwar, and Aqeel, son of Muhammad Ikram, both residents of Sheikhupura, Punjab. They were handed over to the Chitral City Police Station for further investigation.

Lower Chitral Police stated that an integrated monitoring system utilizing modern technology and CCTV cameras is now operational, aimed at improving law and order and ensuring public safety.
