BOONI: Schools in both public and private sectors in Upper Chitral have been closed till March 9 due to heavy snow and inclement weather.
The district administration of Upper Chitral on Monday issued a notification closing the educational institutions, including schools and colleges in public and private sectors.
The notification said that the decision was taken keeping in view the heavy snowfall that has paralyzed almost all communication system, including road and telecom services, and on the request of the district education officer (M) received on March 3.
It may be noted that the district administration of Lower Chitral had closed educational institutions in the district on March 1, till March 9. Schools in both Lower and Upper Chitral had opened after winter vacations on February 29.
