Peshawar, March 31, 2026: Alamgir Ghazi has been appointed captain of Pakistan’s national football team, becoming the first player from Chitral to lead the side.
Pakistan will face Myanmar in an AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifier at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, on March 31 at 2:00 PM (PST).
Speaking ahead of the match, Ghazi expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, saying the players are ready to perform with full commitment and make the most of playing on home ground.
Alamgir is the son of Rehmat Ghazi, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, and his cousin has also represented Pakistan at the national level in football.
He has previously played for Pakistan in international competitions and is regarded as a consistent performer in the squad.
