Mastuj, Feb 7, 2026: Residents of Laspur valley in Upper Chitraare are facing difficulties traveling on the Mastuj-Laspur road following recent heavy snowfall, which has left several stretches slippery and hazardous.
Commuters and transporters reported delays and increased risks of accidents as vehicles struggled to navigate the snow-covered road. The situation has disrupted daily life, affecting access to markets and essential services in the region.
In response, Deputy Commissioner Upper ChitralMuhammad Imran Khan directed immediate measures to improve road safety.
A statement said Additional Assistant Commissioner Afzal Ali is overseeing TMA Mastuj teams working to clear key points and spread soil to reduce slipperiness.
Officials said while efforts are underway to restore normal traffic flow, locals are urged to exercise caution and allow extra time for travel.
