Islamabad, Feb 3, 2026: The courtroom in the murder case of 17-year-old TikTok star Sana Yusuf took a tense turn when a young man was arrested in connection with threats against the accused, Umar Hayat, also known as “Kaka.”
The suspect was apprehended during the hearing after he allegedly handed a note that warned of potential harm the killer and his family.
The suspect, identified as Usama, told the court that he had been in jail with Kaka and claimed that he had “acted with good intentions” by visiting him.
Judge Majoka instructed the police to handle the matter in accordance with the law. The suspect was then handed over to the police for further investigation and legal action.
Judge Majoka recorded the statement of another prosecution witness in the murder case.
The defense requested that Kaka be moved to a different jail cell, citing concerns that he was being held alongside high-risk inmates. The court reserved its decision on this request but directed the superintendent of Adiala Jail to ensure the accused’s safety.
Sana Yusuf was shot by an armed assailant at her home in Sector G-13, Islamabad, on June 2, 2025. Kaka was arrested within 20 hours in Faisalabad, with the murder weapon recovered from his possession.
Investigations said that the accused had repeatedly attempted to contact Sana Yusuf, and after being rejected, carried out the murder. He later confessed to the crime under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The court adjourned further proceedings in the trial to February 10, 2026, for further recording of witness statements.
