Chitral, Feb 4, 2026: In a car crash near the village of Broz Gumbad, Lower Chitral, two young men aged 25 and 26 years lost their lives on Wednesday.
According to local sources, a Toyota XLI skidded off the road while going towards Ayun and plunged into a ravine near the Ayun waiting area. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained; however, eyewitnesses said the incident occurred suddenly.
As a result of the accident, Aqeel Muqaddas, son of Muhammad Muqaddas and a resident of Broz Gumbad, lost his life on the spot due to severe injuries.
Another young man, Shahid, son of Javed, also a resident of the same village, sustained injuries and was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Chitral where he also died.
According to locals, Aqeel Muqadas had gotten married in Ayun just three days ago and was going to meet his in-laws along with his friend when they met with the tragedy.
Aqeel had been working in France for the last a few years and had come home to get married.
