DROSH, Jan 20, 2026: Several newly installed electricity transmission poles in Shishi Koh Valley, Tehsil Drosh, Lower Chitral, have already collapsed during this year’s snowfall, raising serious concerns among residents about their quality installation.
Locals alleged that the transmission lines failed to meet required standards.
Imranul Mulk, President of Drosh Action Forum and Tehsil President of Pakistan Muslim League-N, warned that timely action was not taken the situation could be catastrophic during heavy snowfall.
He criticized the authorities for negligence, saying corruption and kickbacks are widespread in departments responsible for the country’s infrastructure.
Through the Drosh Action Forum, Mulk demanded that Minister of Power Sardar Awais Leghari and Engineer Amir Muqam immediately take notice, hold the responsible contractors accountable, and take strict action against WAPDA officials who approved the substandard work.
“Immediate intervention is essential to prevent further accidents and ensure safe and reliable electricity for Shishi Koh Valley,” he emphasized.
